JACKSONVILLE, Ala.-- The Geraldine Bulldogs (20-13) were defeated by the Piedmont Bulldogs (25-5) in the Class 3A Northeast Regional Semifinals at the Pete Mathews Coliseum of Jacksonville State University on Monday, February 20.
The Geraldine Varsity Boys took the 15-14 lead in the first period of play. Geraldine controlled the second period out scoring Piedmont 19-9, to go into intermission with a 34-23 advantage.
Piedmont outscored Geraldine 22-15 in the third period. Piedmont scored 20 points in the fourth to win the semifinal 65-50.
During the game, the score was tied three times. The game lead also changed three times.
Piedmont will face the Plainview Bears on Thursday, February 23 at 10:45 am in the Regional Finals.
