IDER, Ala.--The Plainview Bears defeated the Ider Hornets 28-14 on Friday.
Ider drew first blood when Hunter Robinson zigzagged his way through the Bears defense, scoring on a 30-yard run with :41 remaining in the first quarter. The point after attempt by Ben Smith was good, giving Ider the 7- 0 advantage.
To end the first quarter, Braiden Thomas bulldozed his way, 62 yards right up the middle, to score for Plainview. Thomas also brought in the two-point conversion to take the 8-7 lead.
With 6:45 remaining in the first half, Andrew Hall stampeded in from 7yards out. The two-point conversion failed but gave the Bears the 14-7 advantage going into the half.
Noah White scored on a quarterback keeper reverse option around the left side for 40 yards with 6:08 remaining in the third quarter. The PAT was not good, making the score Plainview 20, Ider 7.
The Ider Hornets scored with 10:53 remaining in the game, on a 10-yard gallop by Norman. The extra point by Smith, made the score, 20-14. With 4:39 remaining in the game, White crashed in from 9-yards out. Thomas brought in the 2-point conversion to make the final score, 28-14.
The Bears had 341 yards to Ider’s 213. Braiden Thomas led the Bears with 197 yards on 22 attempts. Noah White had 74 yards on 7 attempts and went 1-for 1 on 23 yards passing for the night.
The Plainview Bears will host the Pisgah Eagles on Friday. Ider will travel to take on the North Sand Mountain Bisons.
