Graham Questions Financial Status of City

The Rainsville City Council met on Monday night and the financial status of the City was discussed.

Councilman Joey Graham asked for a financial report from the Mayor at the next council meeting, citing Rainsville's "tenuous financial situation".

Jones agreed to present a financial statement and then went on record disputing Graham's claims.

"I want to set the record straight...we're not in tenuous financial times. There's not more money going out than there is coming in."

- Mayor Nick Jones

When Jones took office in 2012, Rainsville had a budget deficit of $90k. However, beginning the 2014 fiscal year, Rainsville had a budget SURPLUS of $296k.
