DCSO Uncovers Puppy Scam

DCSO Uncovers Puppy Scam

By Southern Torch Staff

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — From the Office of DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden: Earlier this month, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a person on FaceBook advertising puppies for sale requiring a deposit of $250.00. A FaceBook account with the name Samantha Allen was used to facilitate the scam.  This FB account was determined to have been a fake account.  The subject would set up a meeting place to get the $250.00 deposit and promised the puppy at a later date.  After receiving the money, the fake account was deleted.

This subject was identified as Sabrina Gabriell Esloon (28 of Rainsville) and warrants were obtained for her arrest through the DeKalb County Circuit Clerks Office.  DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office had been working closely with other agencies trying to locate Esloon.  Rainsville Police Department encountered Esloon entering a store in Rainsville where she was detained until DCSO could arrive.  This has occurred in Marshall and Jackson counties as well and possibly other places.  Esloon was charged with Theft of Property 4th

If you or someone you know has been scammed by Esloon, please reach out to us at 256-845-3801.
