Four in Henagar found in possession of meth, handguns

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office: On Monday, October 2nd DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators, Sylvania Police and Henagar police conducted a traffic stop in the Henagar area.

During the traffic stop, there were 4 individuals identified in the vehicle as Christian Chase Holland, 20 of Pisgah, Michael Alexander Glass, 21 of Henagar, Hannah Leah Fordham, 20 of Griffin Ga and Courtney Danielle Priest, 21 of Griffin GA. After a K-9 alert on the vehicle a search was conducted where methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and two handguns were found. All 4 individuals were arrest and transported to DeKalb county Detention center, they were all charged with drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapon and distribution of controlled substance.

Chief Deputy Edmondson says “These arrest was a result of a large officer presence in the Henagar - Sylvania area due to the rash of burglaries that have been taking place. All of these officers did a great job on being observant during this traffic stop.”

The Sylvania Police Chief said, “We here at the Sylvania Police Department work closely with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators, DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, and Henagar and Rainsville Police Departments.

"I want to thank them for all of their help and support during these break-ins and thanks to all that have assisted. We look forward to working with them in bringing all that are responsible for these break-ins to justice. I also want to say a special thanks to Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson, Chief of Rainsville Police Kevin Smith and Chief of Henagar Randall Smith for everything that they have done.”
