RAINSVILLE, Ala. The Ruhama Community Theatre proudly presents a twist on two classic tales with the play, Dorothy in Wonderland. This clever rendition finds Dorothy and her friends in Wonderland, where they team up with Alice and the gang to defeat the Queen of Hearts.

Mrs. Staci Mason, Ruhama teacher and counselor, directs the play of thirty Ruhama current and former students ranging from the third to eleventh-grade. The book is written by Brian D. Taylor with music by Bill Francoeur and lyrics by Scott DeTurk.

This is the fourth play presented by the drama team in the Ruhama gymnasium. Everyone is invited to come and watch this highly entertaining play that is chock-full of burgeoning talent. “I am incredibly proud of all the students who have worked so hard to make this play a success. The kids’ talent continues to grow each year,” gushed Mason when asked about her theatre group.

“I would like to thank Mr. Phillips [principal of Ruhama], the school, parents, and community members for all their support. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Jason Barnett and the DeKalb County Board of Education members for allowing us to perform a preview of the show at March’s board meeting.”

The show opens on Friday, April 7th, at 7:00 and runs to Saturday, April 8th, at 7:00. Admission is $3 for students and $5 for adults. Proceeds benefit Ruhama School.
