FORT PAYNE, Ala. — (Update: This event was cancelled on Friday, January 12th due to the potential for Winter Weather during time frame of the drill and the ongoing flu emergency.) According to a statement on social media from Fort Payne City Schools and DeKalb County Schools, there will be a "Emergency Mock Event" the week of January 15th - 19th. The information was released to avoid, "undue panic."

The event will take place at one of the schools in the City of Fort Payne or one of the county schools. The exact school and date will not be released to help first responders be ready to go to any school where an emergency may take place in our area, and will help local agencies work as a team if such a real life event took place.
