RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The Rainsville Minister's Fellowship will observe National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7 at noon in the parking lot of the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum.

This will be a drive-in event and all who attend are required to remain in their cars. If there is rain, the event will be cancelled.

According to nationaldaycalendar.com, the National Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Thursday of May. The observation, designated by Congress, encourages citizens to "turn to God in prayer and meditation."

The law was enacted in 1952 and every since its inception, the National Day of Prayer has been recognized by the President of the United States with a signed proclamation.
