Jan. 23: Open House at the MERF House – We will have refreshments, door prizes, and readings by some of our Mentone writers’ groups. Free books for all Friends of the Library. A local author, Greg Starnes, will be there with some of his books and a special reading. 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Jan. 27: Desiree Million at the Abbey – Come enjoy vocals and keyboard original blues songs by Desiree Million.  Ticket price includes coffee and dessert. 10 tickets available per show. The Abbey is located in Mentone.  Show time 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Call 256-251-3780 for details.

Feb. 2: Power of Black History – Come enjoy Senator Hank Sander’s presentation on the power of Black History.  NACC Music Auditorium-William M. Beck Fine Arts and Health Building 9:45 a.m. Contact Chasley Bellomy for more info. Call 256-638-4418 for details.

Feb. 2-Feb. 3: Loomis Bro. Circus – Come and enjoy the show! Circus features performing elephants, white tigers, dogs , ponies, acrobats, clowns, jugglers ,trapeze and more! There are two shows 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Doors open an hour before each show. Tickets are $20 for adults, two children age 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by paying adult, additional children are $8 cash only is accepted at the circus.
