RAINSVILLE, Ala. — Communities that house and maintain their own one-of-a-kind local businesses have a distinct character. Rainsville is one of those towns. With numerous businesses on the rise, the local economy is growing quickly, which supports and uplifts the community.

When you buy from a local business, you are helping a parent send their child to pitching lessons or gymnastics, not helping a CEO of a large organization gain a large bonus. All locally spent money goes back into the community so that it may flourish even more.

One of Rainsville's unique local businesses is GIGI's Funky Junk, located on 523 Main St. W. Don’t let the name fool you, GIGI’S Funky Junk is anything but junk. GIGI's owner, Michelle Decker, has big plans for her local business. She has always loved the act of gift giving and has dreamed for many years of owning her own gift boutique.

"My inspiration for the boutique is to offer unique items without having to drive a long distance. Plus, I love pretty things, home decor, and anything that smells good!" says Michelle.

"Anytime I visit another city I always seek out a gift shop/boutique to visit because I can always find different and unique items that couldn’t be found at home," added Michelle.

GIGI's Funky Junk is a collection of old and new home decor items, gifts, jewelry, and a selection of gourmet foods such as popcorn, caramels, dip mixes, and much more. Not to mention, the store smells amazing! Feel free to "smell the bell!" In other words, feel free to smell of each candle in GIGI's large candle selection. Food samples are available, also!
