Traffic Stop Results in Marijuana Arrest

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Chief Randy Bynum states: On July 10, Angelo Conley Sanjuan, age 30 of Fort Payne, was arrested during a traffic stop. Officer Carl White detected a very strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A glass jar that was located inside the center console of the vehicle contained marijuana. Present in the vehicle was a two year old male that was not the driver’s child. Drug Task Force agents along with Department of Human Resources and parents of the child were called. The child was released to the biological parents. Officer White, Lt. Matt Wilson and Sgt. Matt Jones are to be commended on their arrest of this individual. Sanjuan was charged with:

  • Possession of Marijuana 2nd
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Chemical Endangerment of a Child
