Wildcats Battle the Lions

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — The Guntersville Wildcats defeated the Crossville Lions, 49-7 on Friday night. 

Guntersville scored first on a 40-yard touchdown pass caught by Jake Harris. After an interception, Guntersville put more points on the board, taking the 14-0 lead with 6:03 remaining in the first.

The Wildcats scored four more touchdowns in the second quarter, going into the half with the 42-0 advantage over the Crossville Lions. 

The Lions scored their sole touchdown of the night as Ernesto Lopez sprinted into the endzone.  On the kickoff return, Guntersville scored their last touchdown of the night with 3:19 remaining in the third quarter.  

Both teams agreed to a continuous clock in the fourth quarter.  

Crossville will have a bye week before returning to action on September 25 against Plainview.
