Oxford 63-Fort Payne 62

FORT PAYNE, Ala.—Fort Payne was the place to be for great basketball games, Monday night.  The Fort Payne Lady Wildcats faced the Oxford Yellow Jackets.

Oxford jumped to an 19-10 lead in the first quarter.  The Lady Wildcats fought back and going into the half, the Yellow Jackets only had a one point lead, 29-28.

The second half was a fierce battle between two worthy competitors.  The third quarter finished with the Yellow Jackets pulling ahead of the Wildcats by 10. The Lady Wildcats  pulled within one point of Oxford as time ran out in the fourth. Final Oxford 63, Fort Payne 62.

For Fort Payne, Shefel had 22 points.  Following with 14 points, was McElrath.
