RAINSVILLE, Ala. — Earlier today, Ava Jacobs of Plainview signed an Academic and Softball scholarship with the University of Alabama - Huntsville. The signing was held at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum with her teammates, friends, coaches, and family present.

While Jacobs has excelled as a pitcher and outfielder for the Lady Bears, she has big plans academically as well. She plans to pursue a double major in Kinesiology and Mechanical Engineering. Ava plans to use her education to work developing prosthetics.

When asked how she felt about the scholarship, Ava said, "I'm excited to have the opportunity to play for UAH and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to play at the next level! I thank God for the opportunity."

Congratulations Ava Jacobs!
