Crossville 59-Fyffe 47

RAINSVILLE, Ala.— In the first round of the Dekalb County Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament, the Crossville Lions defeated the Fyffe Red Devils 59-47, Tuesday night.

The first quarter was equally matched with the score being 11-10 as the buzzer sounded.  The Crossville Lions jumped ahead in the second, scoring 19 points to the Devils 10.  Going into the half, the score was Crossville 30, Fyffe 20.

Crossville maintained their lead throughout the second half.  At the break from the third, the Lions held on with a score of 47-34. The Red Devils could never catch up and as the buzzer sounded in the fourth, the score was Crossville 59, Fyffe 47.

For Crossville, two players scored in the double digits.  Joshua Bailey had 19 points.  Ganon Pointer added 15 points to the board for the Lions.

Payton Anderson led the Fyffe team with 11 points.  Seth Benefield and Chad Gray, each had nine points.
