Geraldine/Plainview GOTW Recap

There are pivotal moments in games that determine the outcome.

That moment came on the first play from scrimmage last night as Plainview QB Jayse Pruitt connected with WR Chase Willingham for a 25 yard gain...who then fumbled.

Geraldine immediately took advantage of the mistake, drove the field and scored via a Marcus Davis TD plunge, putting a chokehold on the game and never looking back.

The Bulldogs physical dominance is obvious and it looks like they are the class of 3A Region 6.

Jacob Bolin was chosen as the Southern Torch Game of the Week MVP after racking up 165 all-purpose yards with a 55 yard punt return for a TD that took the air out of the the stadium for the Bears.

Devan Totherow wreaked havoc once again on both sides of the ball and posted a fantasy stud-like 115 yards and 3 TDs.

NEXT WEEK: The Geraldine Bulldogs will continue their freight train-like roll as they travel to Brindlee Moutain.

PREDICTION: Geraldine wins by a score of "A lot to not much".

For Plainview, their statistical bright spots were QB Jayse Pruitt who posted 153 total yards and 2 TD's, and WR Chase Willingham who hauled in 4 receptions for 74 yards and 1 TD.

RB Caleb Spears could never find a lane and was held to 25 total yards after easily breaking the century mark last week vs Crossville.

NEXT WEEK: The Plainview Bears travel to Pisgah where they'll try to right the ship. Electric RB Payne Anderson will be who to watch for in the coming days, as he's yet to see the field for the Bears. Anderson gives the Plainview offense another dimension and they can't get the JR back soon enough.

PREDICTION: The holes will look much bigger to the Plainview Bears backs next week against the Pisgah Eagles.
