Everyone was excited it was the Fyffe vs Plainview game.   Both teams were on long winning streaks with playoffs on the horizon. The winner of this game would go into the playoffs with a lot of momentum. Not to mention the  bragging rights for beating your arch rival for another year.

Plainview capitalized first on a Fyffe’s muffed punt. Louis Fernandez kicked a 29 yard field goal. Both  defenses played great the rest of the quarter . Plainview lead 3-0 after one quarter of play.

Fyffe took control in the second quarter scoring 3 touchdowns. Ashley ran a 22 yard touchdown for Fyffe, Dunston’s kick was no good Fyffe 6-3. Fyffe’s next possession Kilpatrick bulled his way in for a 4 yard touchdown, Collins ran in the 2 point conversion. Fyffe 14-3. With 4.2 seconds before halftime Benefield threw a 33 yard touchdown pass to Collins. Dunston’s kick was good. Fyffe 21 Plainview 3 at the half.

The third quarter saw Plainview throwing an interception to Anderson. Leading to Kilpatricks second touchdown of the game from 2 yards out. Dunston’s kick was no good. Fyffe 27-3 ending the third quarter.

As the fourth quarter began, Kilpatrick scored his third touchdown of the game, on a nine yard sprint. Dunston’s kick was good. Fyffe wins 34-3 giving the Red Devils bragging rights for another year.  For this impressive win, Fyffe is named The Southern Torch Team of the Week! Kilpatrick lead Fyffe with 124 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Next week Fyffe will host LaFayette  and Plainview will travel to Oakman.
