FORT PAYNE, Ala. – The Fort Payne Boys track team had a promising showing Saturday at Rome.
Many members of the boys team were competing in their first varsity meet. Freshman Caden Dubose competed in the 100,200 and 4x100 relay, Malik Turner finished 10 in the high jump at 5’6”, Owen Pettus finished 9th in the 400 along with Patrick Sherrill who finished 12th.
We think Patrick can do well in this event with more conditioning. Patrick also finished 12th in the triple jump at 38’2”.
Darrell Prater had a PR throw of 39 feet in the shot.
Koby King finished 9th in the triple jump with a 39 foot jump.
Ian Norman ran a personal best in the 800 at 2:14.
Arturo Rodrigues finished 13 in the 800 at 2:11 and 17 in the 1600 at 4:45.
The 4x100 team of Caden Dubose, Patrick Sherrill, Skyler Cody, and Koby King finished 13th. Dubose and Cody are freshmen.
