RAINSVILLE, Ala.—Only four teams remain the DeKalb County Tournament, but due to winter storms and snow, basketball fans in DeKalb County will have to wait just a little longer to see this year’s champions crowned.

The boys semifinal Friday night and what was supposed to the championship round Saturday night were cancelled and have been postponed until next week. The boys semifinals have been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 25 at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum in Rainsville. Sylvania will face Plainview at 6 p.m., followed by the 7:30 p.m. matchup of Geraldine vs. Crossville. The winner of Monday night’s games will face off in the Varsity Boys DeKalb County Tournament Championship Finals Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7:45 p.m.

The varsity girls wrapped up their semifinals round Thursday night before winter storms moved in on Friday. The Sylvania Lady Rams defeated the Collinsville Panthers 69-54, and the Ider Hornets varsity girls defeated the Crossville Lady Lions 47-37. Sylvania will face Ider in the Varsity Girls DeKalb County Championship finals on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum preceding the boys championship game.
