Collinsville Starts 100th Year Celebration Early

RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The Collinsville Panthers started celebrating their 100th season early with a 50-6 win over the Plainview Bears on Friday night. 

Kaleb Jones started the scoring frenzy with a 3-yard quarterback keeper with 7:36 remaining in the first quarter.  The kick by Jason Perez was good giving the Panthers the 7-0 lead.  The Panthers capitalized on a Plainview fumble, scoring on a 12-yard pass from Jones to Garrett Skelton with 6:25 remaining in the opening quarter. The PAT by Perez was good, making the score 14-0.  A 37-yard field goal by Perez with 1:21 remaining in the first, put the Panthers up 17-0. 

The Panthers scored on a 33-yard connection from Jones to Skelton with 4:22 remaining in the second quarter.  The PAT failed, making the score 23-0.  With :027 remaining in the first half, Michael Tucker sailed in from 3-yards out for the Panther score. The kick by Perez was good and the Panthers took the 30-0 lead into the half.

Jones connected with Skelton on a 36-yard pass with 10:29 remaining in the third, the kick by Perez, made the score 37-0.   Malachi Orr, bulldozed his way down the field for 32 yards to pad the Panther lead. The kick by Perez, gave the Panthers the 44-0 advantage.

With 6:30 remaining in the game, Keaton Deboard connected on a 23-yard pass with Deon WInsley, to make the score 50-0.  With 1:06 left in the game, the Bears put points on the board with a 4-yard dash into the endzone. The extra point attempt failed making the final score of the night, 50-6.

Kaleb Jones completed 6-of-10 passes for a total of 131 yards and three touchdowns.  Malachi Orr lead the Panthers with 65 yards on six carries. Kaleb Jones had 43 yards on 4 carries and Dalton Hughes finished the game with 38 yards on 6 carries for the Panthers.

Plainview will host the North Jackson Chiefs on Friday.  Collinsville will host the Crossville Panthers.
