HENAGAR, Ala. — Roy Moore (R – Gadsden) will be holding a rally at the Henagar Community Center (formerly known as the Ruritan Bldg) tonight. The event will be starting at 6 pm and is being hosted by the DeKalb County Republican Party. The Southern Torch will be covering the event and video will be posted shortly after.

Last week, the Moore campaign released statements attacking his opponent on his immigration policies and views on economics. Voters will decide the special election to fill Jeff Sessions’ U.S. Senate seat on Tuesday, December 12th; almost two weeks away.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Moore Campaign released a statement grilling Doug Jones for his “Mexico First” immigration and border control policies: “On Saturday, Jones said he did not support the building of a border wall, stating that it would be too expensive. On Sunday, another Border Patrol Officer was killed on the Southern Border. Jones has also voiced support for DACA and the DREAM Act.

“Until we gain control of the Southern Border, American lives are in danger,” Roy Moore said on Tuesday. “Our borders can and should be secured immediately by deploying the military to aid the Border Patrol until the border wall is completed as a longer-term solution.

“Unfortunately,” Moore continued, “just as they have failed to repeal Obamacare, Congress has failed to put more boots on the ground and failed to equip the Border Patrol with the tools that they need. I am ready to put congressional priorities back in line. It is past time to secure our borders, reform our legal immigration system, and provide safety for all Americans.”

Moore has consistently voiced support for President Trump’s proposed border wall. He has also opposed all amnesty, including DACA and the DREAM Act.

“The Mexico First policies of Doug Jones are straight from the pit of the failed Obama Administration and have no place in Alabama and certainly not the vacated seat of Jeff Sessions,” Moore Campaign chairman, Bill Armistead said. “Illegal immigrants and a vulnerable border devalue the legal immigration process, put American jobs at risk, and open our borders to drug lords and criminals who put the safety of American’s at risk. Judge Roy Moore will join President Trump in putting Americans first again.”

On Friday afternoon, the Moore Campaign released a statement criticizing Doug Jones for supporting what he called, “Bernie Sanders style economics that would crush small businesses, stifle the free market, and make it harder for everyday Alabamians to put food on the table.”

“This comes just as Governor Ivey declared tomorrow “Small Business Saturday” as a day for Alabamians to recognize, appreciate, and support small businesses,” the statement continued.

“Small businesses account for around two-thirds of American jobs,” Judge Roy Moore said on Friday. “Alabama business owners and entrepreneurs work hard every day to provide quality products, services, and jobs to our communities and they deserve to reap all of the benefits of a free market that is unencumbered by the burdens of the federal government. As your next United States Senator, I will work hard to roll back unnecessary government regulations, remove tax rules that punish small business owners, and join the President in promoting economic policies that put the needs of the American people first.”

“The Bernie Sanders style economics of Doug Jones are straight from the socialist playbook and would be the destruction of small businesses in Alabama,” Moore Campaign chairman, Bill Armistead said on Friday afternoon. “Jones wants more government, more taxes, more regulation, and more free stuff – all on taxpayer dime. Judge Roy Moore wants less government, lower taxes, fewer regulations, and a booming economy that will create jobs and make life easier for all Alabamians who are simply trying to pay the bills.”

Moore’s opponent, Doug Jones, also visited DeKalb County earlier last month.
