Juvenile Taken Into Custody for Joy Riding

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum: On March 26 at approximately 8:10pm, a fourteen-year-old juvenile male of Fort Payne was taken into custody by the Fort Payne Police Department and agents of the DeKalb County Drug Task Force, Chief Bynum reported.

The juvenile was charged with three counts of Theft of Property 1st, one count of Theft of Property 4th, one count of Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle and three counts of Imitation of a Controlled Substance.

These charges stem from the juvenile stealing three vehicles and joy riding in them, breaking-in one vehicle and taking a handgun, and having in his possession, three different types of imitation controlled substances.

All of these crimes occurred in the Sequoyah trailer park area. All of the vehicles were recovered by the Fort Payne Police Department. Chief Bynum asks that you please remember to take your keys out of your car and keep them locked.
