DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. — The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Central Board of Control has unanimously approved the Fall Sports Reclassification for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years.

Reclassification is conducted every two years and is based on daily enrollment numbers for the first 20 school days after Labor Day. The Alabama State Board of Education provides these figures.

Two local schools, Fyffe and Collinsville, were reclassified from Class 2A to Class 3A.

The two programs join Geraldine, Plainview, and Sylvania as DeKalb County schools in Region 7.

The Crossville Lions will move to Class 5A, Region 7, where they will join Boaz, Brewer, Douglas, Fairview, Guntersville, Sardis and West Point.

Winter and Spring sports reclassifications will be released by the AHSAA after those seasons conclude.
