All DeKalb County Schools Are Accredited

DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. — (Full Video on our Facebook) The DeKalb County Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting on July 30, at the Facilities Building. The Board started the meeting with a prayer for all the students and staff of DeKalb County as they will begin the new school year on August 7.

Superintendent Dr. Jason Barnett announced at the meeting that for the first time in DeKalb County School history, all schools are accredited through the year 2024.

“I am very excited to receive the certificate of Accreditation from the AdvancED accreditation board. For the first time in County History, the board and all of our county schools will be accredited. This is quite an accomplishment and means the work we are doing meets a high and rigorous national standard for our students. I want to thank all of our employees for their hard work and the communities for their strong and continued support of our schools.”

Dr. Barnett addressed the Board regarding the Salary and Supplements for Principals, Substitutes, Employee Attendances, Band Directors and Coaches. It was placed on the table for further review and consideration. 

Petroleum Bids were awarded to Cedar Bluff Oil Co., Inc. at a price of $2.170 per gallon for Gasoline, $1.880 per gallon for Diesel at $0.150 over Opis Low price.
