RAINSVILLE, Ala.— This Friday and Saturday the Professional Bull Riders will be hosting the 11th Annual Bull Bash. This event is sponsored by AutoNation Ford of Fort Payne and the DeKalb County Farmer’s Co-Op and hosted at the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center.

“The event is a big draw to the city of Rainsville and all of DeKalb County for tourism.

We want everyone to benefit,” said Rickey West. West has a big involvement with Bull Bash. “For the first six years, the event was held on my ranch in Fyffe. We moved the event to the Ag Center 5 years ago.”

West says the event will bring in professional athletes. “We’ve had sponsors and riders register from Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee,” West said.

Rainsville Mayor Nick Jones said,

“The Bull Bash is a huge event for Rainsville. Anytime the city has a quality event of this size, we’re excited about it and Rickey West does a phenomenal job putting this show together.”

On Thursday morning at 9 a.m., 61 kids from the Special Needs Center got to participate in the Bull Bash Special Needs Rodeo. Wagon and pony rides as well as other events were made available to the kids.

The tickets for the event will be sold at the gate. It is $20 for adults, $15 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the event will start at 7:30 p.m.
