FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A Fort Payne Daycare center, Kidemics, recently surrendered it’s license, according to the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR).

The licensing of daycare centers is handled at the state level and a spokesman for DHR confirmed today that the license had been handed over, pending an investigation over several unspecified complaints.

Yesterday, the business shared a post on Facebook, notifying parents that the daycare would be closed on Thursday and Friday:

According to DHR, after surrendering a license, a business may obtain another, but the process takes time.

“A lot longer than a few days,” the unnamed spokesman said.

UPDATE: One hour ago, Kidemics announced they are closing their doors on Facebook:

We’ll update as this story develops. The investigation is ongoing, and little information is likely to be available until the conclusion.
