Wrecks Result in Two Fatalities

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Two wrecks occurred over the weekend that unfortunately resulted in two fatalities. Both accident accounts are according to the Fort Payne Police Department.

On Saturday, November 10 at approximately 9:10pm, a two car accident occurred on Wallace Avenue just below the intersection of Scenic Drive. A 2003 Nissan Altima driven by Colton Clark Ray, age 21 of Henagar, careened off of a guardrail causing it to enter into the oncoming lane of traffic, striking a 2014 Honda Odyssey driven by 57-year-old Carlton Neal Goldin of Rainsville.

Mr. Golden was transported to DeKalb Regional Hospital by DeKalb Ambulance Service, Mrs. Golden was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital by AirEvac. Mr. Ray was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

On Sunday, November 11 at approximately 5:05am, a 2015 Honda Civic driven by Richard Alyn Ciesco, age 84 of Statesboro, Ga. was traveling northbound in the south bound lane of Interstate 59. Mr. Ciesco struck a 2011 Infinity head on being driven by Brandi N. Wooten, age 32 of Southside. Wooten was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital by AirEvac. Mr. Ciesco died on the scene as a result of his injuries.

Both accidents continue to be investigated by the Fort Payne Police Department.
