We’re here to help anyway we can!

Contributed by Tim Eberhart, Executive Director

RAINSVILLE, Ala. — There was a time, quite a few years ago now, when the Chamber fielded dozens of phone calls per week with inquiries about anything and everything. When a big event was about to take place in the city, the call frequency would often increase to dozens per day, and sometimes even dozens per hour. It sometimes felt like we were a full-blown information bureau call center.

The world changed. Now, inquiring minds get most of the information they need online. We still field questions by phone from time to time, and are happy to help people find what they’re looking for whether it’s a place, a product, or anything else.

But, these days people get their questions answered through a web search, a website, an app or social media posts 99 percent of the time. All are great ways to find what you need.

We still function as an information center, but we now most often provide the information through our online business guide and the community website where the most-visited page is the “events” page. We make sure those are up to date as often as possible.

Also, we are answering inquiries by email and text message more and more.

The ole reliable phone call has become the last resort in most instances. But it doesn’t have to be. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us on our old information hotline, 256-638-7800, or by email or text. Or drop by in person. Our office is located in Tom Bevill Enrichment Center in center of town.

Maybe you need to inquire about renting the Bevill Center, or you need help finding the “tag office.” Maybe you need us to refer you to a business, or you just need the name or location for one. Maybe you need to inquire about the Rainsville Christmas parade on December 10, or the Rainsville Holiday Open House on November 11-12. Maybe you need to know more about nominating someone for the Rainsville Person of the Year award.

Maybe you are a visitor and need help finding an event venue, or a place to eat.

The point is, we’re glad to help in any way we can, in regard to just about anything we can. Contact us in the whichever way you can.

  1. I believe that the city of Rainsville is very fortunate to have Tim Eberhart as Executive Director of our Chamber as well as all others working with him. Together they do a wonderful job wherever they are needed and amazingly seem to be able to handle and complete any and everything put before them on behalf of our city. Having had experiences with Chambers of Commerce in several cities and states, over the past 25 or so years, I can tell you, first hand, that the citizens of Rainsville certainly have a lot to be proud of in our Chamber and its’ accomplishments. No matter the need or the event, the Rainsville City of Commerce seems to always be there, doing whatever is needed, at their 100% best. As citizens and recipients of this high level of commitment from our Chamber of Commerce, we should not fail to show our appreciation for all of their hard work and everything they do for all of us, at every opportunity. Sonjia Pittman, Rainsville Citizen
