SAND ROCK, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils (6-0, 4-0) defeated the Sand Rock Wildcats, 48-17 and remain perfect in the season.

After a fumble recovery by Japeth Long, Zach Pyron scored on a 4-yard, up the middle run to put Fyffe on the scoreboard first with 2:34 remaining in the first.

With 11:02 to play in the first half, Zach Pyron hit Ike Rowell on a 40-yard touchdown pass.  The two-point conversion was made by Payton Anderson, bringing the score to 14-0.  After a partial blocked punt by Ike Rowell, Payton Anderson scored on a 38-yard run up the middle to make the score, 21-0 with 8:28 to play in the first half.  With 4:44 to play in the half, Payton Anderson scored on an 8-yard run up the middle to put Fyffe up 28-0. With 1:01 remaining in the second quarter, Anderson took it around the right end, 42 yards to score, giving the Red Devils the 35-0 advantage going into the half.

Payton Anderson took the ball on the third play of the second half and ran it back 41 yards to the 10.  He scored on the next play to make things, 41-0.

Jake Stone took the ball down the field for 40 yards for the score, making the score 48-0.  Sand Rock got on the scoreboard with 4:50 remaining in the game with a 60-yard pass for the touchdown.  The point after attempt was good, making the final score, 48-7. With 3:00 remaining in the ballgame, a player from Sand Rock was removed from the field by medics with a hyperextended back injury but is expected to make a full recovery.

Payton Anderson led the Red Devils with four touchdowns and 196 rushing yards. Fyffe will return home to host Cedar Bluff on Friday.
