FYFFE, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils shutout the Isabella Mustangs 48-0 on Friday night.
With 2:43 remaining in the opening quarter, Ike Rowell scored on 7-yard stampede into the endzone. With :46 remaining in the first quarter, Rowell threw a 24-yard rocket, connecting with Brody Dalton, making the score 14-0.
With 9:19 remaining in the first half, Fyffe took the 21-0 lead. With 1:40 remaining in the first half, Fyffe scored once again on a 10-yard run, making the score 28-0.
Fyffe scored with 6:51 remaining in the third, Fyffe scored on a 5-yard run by Rowell. With 1:45 remaining in the third quarter, the Red Devils added more points to the board on a 5-yard touchdown.
Brody Hicks nailed the coffin shut for the Mustangs with a 1-yard dash into the endzone with 2:49 remaining in play, giving the Fyffe Red Devils their first shutout of the season, 48-0.
Rowell led the Red Devils, carrying the ball 15 times for 114 total yards and two touchdowns. He also was 2-for-3 on passing for 71 yards.
Brody Dalton was perfect for the night, making all (6) point-after attempts.
“All our kids played extremely well, not to have played for eight months. I’m extremely pleased with all the players. It was a physical game” stated Fyffe Head Coach Paul Benefield.
Fyffe will have a bye week before facing Collinsville in region play on September 4.
