FP Parks & Rec Issues Statement on COVID-19

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Fort Payne Parks & Recreation is monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. After careful consideration, Fort Payne Parks & Recreation has instituted the following precautionary measures: 

  • Wills Valley Recreation Center – will close to the public effective close of day Monday, March 16th. We will reassess on April 6th. 
  • DeSoto Golf Course & Grill - will be closed to the public effective close of day Monday, March 16th. We will reassess on April 6th
  • Athletics – will be postponed until April 6th. Will reassess at that point. 
  • Parks and Open Spaces - Will remain open, subject to change. 

This is certainly a fluid situation, and we appreciate your readiness for adjustment. We will announce any changes to our operations, hours, programs and/or athletics via social media – Please follow us on Facebook. 

Adjustments may be made as deemed by the Alabama Department of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Alabama State Department of Education, and the Governor’s Task Force.
