CROSSVILLE, Ala. — Saturday night, Crossville and Geraldine met for their annual rival game , “The Battle of Skirum Creek.” This game pairs neighbor against neighbor in the time honored tradition.  Geraldine fought a hard battle and came home with the 28-7 win over the Lions.

The first half was an intense battle with both teams going into the dressing room, scoreless.

Coming back from the half, Geraldine put the first points of the night on the board with 10:10 remaining in the third quarter.  The Bulldogs made a 4-play, 90-yard drive capped off with a 11-yard score by Austin Hall.  The PAT was good by Jose Garcia.    Hall galloped down the field for 93 yards to give the Bulldogs the 14-0 lead. With 4:13 to play in the third quarter, Geraldine padded their lead with a 30-yard punt return to advance the Bulldog lead to 20-0.

With 9:45 remaining in the game, Geraldine brought it in from a yard out.  The Bulldogs went for two, making their lead 28-0. With 2:00 left in the game, Crossville put their only points on the board , with a 40-yard perfect pass from quarterback, Trenton Bryant to Cam Adkins.  The extra point by Eli Borja made the final score 28-7.

Hall completed the game with 10 carries for 151 yards and scoring two touchdowns.

For Crossville, Bryant completed 12-of-26 passes for 168 yards and one touchdown.

Geraldine will travel to  face the Fyffe Red Devils on Friday night. Crossville will host Collinsville Panthers.
