CENTRE, Ala. — According to Cherokee County Chief Investigator Josh Summerford: Three individuals from Georgia were arrested by Cherokee County Sheriff's Office investigators on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, along U.S. Highway 411 in Centre.

Around lunch time, Sheriff Jeff Shaver noticed three individuals acting very suspiciously inside Wendy's restaurant.

Upon further investigation, Sheriff Shaver and investigators discovered the three were in a stolen truck from Carroll County, Georgia.

During the vehicle stop on U.S. Highway 411, Sheriff's Office investigators took a firearm from the driver and located methamphetamine and marijuana inside the truck.

The driver, Steven A. Freeman, 39 of Cedartown, and two passengers, Lamon R. Jones, 21 of Rome and Jennifer L. Mullins, 34 of Cedartown, were taken into custody.

Freeman was charged with first degree stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jones and Mullins were both booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Freeman also faces charges in Floyd and Carroll Counties on existing warrants.
