Vehicles stolen on Sand Mountain located

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office: The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies, Investigators and Sylvania Police Chief Darren Myers have been working together to find two missing vehicle. One of the vehicles is a truck that went missing from Sylvania Truss Company and the other one is a 2007 Chevrolet van that was reported stolen from Chestnut Grove Church on September 27th.

The truck from Sylvania Truss Company was noticed to be missing between October 14th – 18th. Sylvania Police Chief Myers received a tip of the whereabouts of the truck and when Chief Myers, deputies and Investigators arrived at a residence on Road 9053 in Hammondville they recovered the truck. The theft of this truck is still being investigated and no arrest have been made at this time, but arrest warrants are expected in the near future.   

Information from a concerned citizen came in about the 2007 Chevrolet van being found in a corn field on County Road 112 in Sylvania. Jacksonville of Applied Science has been called in to process the van in search of any forensics evidence that could lead to an arrest in this case.

DeKalb County Chief Deputy Edmondson said, “The Deputies, Investigators and Sylvania Police Chief Darren Myers have been working together in a recovery effort of both of these vehicles and they both have been recovered with the help of concerned citizen’s tips. I want to thank Chief Myers, Deputies and Investigators for the long hours that they have put in to finding these vehicles.”
