DeKalb County Deputies ‘Catch a Predator’ in Geraldine

GERALDINE, Ala. — On January 4th, a joint operation was conducted between DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and Geraldine Police Department.

During the operation, Ronald Troy Bodine, 52 of Horton was arrested on electronic solicitation of a child. Bodine attempted to contact a 14 year old female by way of Facebook. The Sheriff’s Office got involved with the case when an adult family member contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Bodine was arrested when he came to Geraldine thinking he was meeting the 14 year old.

Sheriff Harris says “Because this family member contacted us on this case and the assistance of Geraldine Police Department and DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, we were able to make this arrest. We are glad that we were able to get Bodine off the internet and off the street.”
