Student arrested on drug charges at Jackson Co. Tech School

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office: On April 9, 2018, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office School Resources Officer (SRO) Lamar Evans was called to the Jackson County Technical School in Hollywood, Alabama after school authorities located what was believed to be synthetic cannabinoids (Spice) in the possession of an 18 year old Pisgah student.

SRO Evans responded and contacted Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit to assist.

Arrested in connection with this investigation was Joseph James Vavrik age 18 of Pisgah, AL. who was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Synthetic Cannabinoids).

Vavrik remains in the Jackson County Jail and bond has not yet been set.
