Official Release on remains found in Sylvania

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office: On Saturday, September 3rd the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a body that was found in a field on County Road 592 in the Sylvania area while someone was bush hogging. When DeKalb County Deputies, Investigators Sylvania Police, Henagar Police, Gary Williams and Jacksonville State Forensics Science Investigators all responded to the scene the body of a female was found unresponsive.

The body has not been identified at this time. The body was transported by DeKalb County Coroner’s office to Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for an autopsy. This is still an ongoing investigation and no further information can be released at this time.
