Early morning stabbing reported in Stevenson, suspect in custody

STEVENSON, Ala. — A man was stabbed early this morning in Stevenson. The suspect was captured in Tennessee and is facing charges for the assault. 

On Thursday September 22, 2016 at around 4:30 am, members of the Stevenson Police Department, Bridgeport Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man being stabbed at a residence on Old Mt. Carmel Road in Stevenson, AL.

The victim, Eric Hutchins age 40 of Stevenson, had left the residence and gone to the Stevenson Police Department, where he was found with multiple stab wounds. Hutchins was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital where he was admitted for his injuries.

Neil Quintis Price, age 44 of Stevenson was identified as the suspect in the assault, and had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Later the same date and after a BOLO was placed for Price, Price was detained in Marion County. TN.
An arrest warrant was obtained in Jackson County, Alabama, charging Price with Assault 1st degree. Additionally Price has several outstanding arrest warrants in the state of Tennessee
