Fort Payne Woman found in Possession of Drugs during Traffic Stop

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the Fort Payne Police Department: On Tuesday, January 9th at approximately 1:50 am Morgan Teresa Davis, age 44 of 68 Sola Circle in Fort Payne was arrested after being stopped for an equipment violation.

After Officer Matthew Jones gathered information from Davis, she gave verbal consent for Officer Jones to search her vehicle. The search yielded Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, smoking pipes, Marijuana grinder, torch lighter, and clear plastic baggies.

Davis was then transported to Fort Payne Police Department where she was processed and booked without incident. Davis was then transported to Dekalb County Sheriffs Office.

Davis was charged with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $70,000.

Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum stated: "By Officer Jones being alert, a sizable amount of methamphetamine was confiscated and taken off the streets. I would like recognize Officer Jones for doing vigilant police work in this arrest."
