Warrants leads to drug seizure in Section

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office: On Tuesday October 17, 2017, Jackson County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division Lt. Craig Holcomb went to a residence on Al. Hwy 35 in Section, AL. to attempt to serve two Grand Jury Indictments on Katherine Michelle Thrift. While making the arrest Lt. Holcomb noticed Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia at the residence and contacted the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit.

Lt. Tracy Holman with the Narcotics Unit obtained a search warrant for the residence which was executed on the same date. This investigation resulted in the seizure of Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Alprazolam, Dextroamphetamine, a Marijuana plant that was approximately 2 feet tall and Drug Paraphernalia.

Katherine Michelle Thrift, age 41, of Section, AL. was arrested and charged with the outstanding Grand Jury Indictments for Possession of Controlled Substance and Burglary 3rd degree.  THRIFT was further charged with the additional charges of: Possession of a Controlled Substance x3 (Methamphetamine, Alprazolam, and Dextroamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Bond has been set at $20,100.
