Bridgeport Man arrested near Valley Head in stolen vehicle with Marijuana growing inside

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — On Sunday, August 27th a Deputy was assisting Fort Payne Police on a vehicle pursuit for several miles on County Road 751 in Valley Head. When the deputy lost sight of the vehicle, he observed a vehicle sitting on the side of the road.

The Deputy pulled over to see if he saw the vehicle go by, as the Deputy was talking to James Trammell Warren, 39 of Bridgeport he noticed a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. When the Deputies asked Warren if he had Marijuana in the vehicle he stated that he just smoked some.

When Warren was asked to step out of the vehicle he was in possession of a pistol on his person. As a result of the search of the vehicle 15 Marijuana plants totaling approximately 35 pounds were found inside the vehicle at which time the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit was contacted. In the meantime the VIN number of the vehicle was ran and it came back that it was stolen out of Georgia.

Warren was arrested and charged with Theft of Property 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug, and Persons Forbidden to Possess Pistol.

DeKalb County Sheriff Harris said, “The Deputies did an outstanding job on being observant in the case. We are also thankful that we got this much marijuana off the streets, and recovered the stolen vehicle from Georgia.”
