FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office: The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a sex offender Robert Carl Bannon, 71 of Ider, having contact with his victim.

When Deputies, Alabama State Parole Officer Jamie Lawrence and Ider Police went to his residence on County Road 712 in Ider they found Bannon’s victim at the residence. Bannon was arrested and charged with SORNA (Sex Offender Registration Notification Act) Violation.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson said, “Thank you to the citizen that called in this tip and to the Deputies, Parole Officer and Ider Police for their assistance in apprehending Bannon. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office takes all tips that come in our office seriously and we always follow up on them.”
