FLAT ROCK, Ala. — On Saturday, May 13th, a DeKalb County K-9 Deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on County Road 155 in Flat Rock. When the Deputy approached the vehicle the driver Jamie Shrader, 45 of Chattanooga Tennessee, told the Deputy that he had a Methamphetamine pipe in the vehicle.

Shrader was asked to step out of the vehicle, the deputy then did search of the vehicle with K-9 Yogi and as a result 38 grams of ICE methamphetamine, 24 Ecstasy, 4 Xanax, a set of scales and 2 hideaway compartments were found. Shrader was then arrested and charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drugs, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

DeKalb County Sheriff Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson says “This is just another example of how our K-9’s Yogi and Marianna work with our Deputies and they are working extremely hard to rid drugs in our County."

"I would also like for everyone especially parents to be aware of this drug Ecstasy that is circulating around our County. Its appearance is a rainbow of colors like the marshmallows in Lucky charms. This is a dangerous drug and we need to educate our children to stay away from it,” said Edmondson.
