Boaz man arrested near Crossville last night for trafficking Methamphetamine

CROSSVILLE, Ala. — On Sunday, May 14, DeKalb County K-9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop on County Road 3 in Crossville. The vehicle failed to pull over for approximately a half a mile, in the meantime the Deputy and Geraldine Officer observed the driver, Jeffery Lynn Corbin, 48 of Boaz throwing several items out the window as he pulled into a driveway. When the Deputy and Officer located the items they discovered 2 plastic bags with methamphetamine inside, with the amount totaling 33 grams.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and as a result a set of scales and a large amount of money was found. A large amount of money was also found on Corbin’s person. At this time the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit was contacted. Corbin was arrested and charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug, Criminal Littering and Drug Paraphernalia.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson said, ”I want to thank the Deputies and Geraldine Officer for their attentiveness to detail and follow up on what was first a traffic violation that turned into a large drug seizure.”
