RAINSVILLE, Ala.— Rainsville held its annual Boo Bash this past Sat. for Halloween at the Tom Bevill Enrichment Center from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. Individuals and businesses were set up inside with games and activities for kids of all ages.

The City of Rainsville had a booth set up with a fishing game in which the children would catch a fish and win a prize. Tammy Gregory, Rainsville’s Court Clerk, said that she suspected to have “over 600 kids” come through their game. “This year was different because it was more successful. We had a bigger turnout, more games, and we even added a haunted room that the children could walk through,” Gregory said. This wasn’t Gregory’s first year participating in the Boo Bash. “Last year I worked the costume contest.” Boo Bash is different than some of the Halloween events because it’s a community affair that is hosted in doors away from the rain. “I think that we will grow as the years go on,” Gregory said. “We hope to combine with all of the churches and make it a community wide event which will make it easier on the parents.”

Southern Torch hosted the costume contest this year with over 125 nonstop entries. Even though all of the costumes were fun and creative, there could only be three winners. This year’s grand prize winner is 8 year old Samuel Wright, who was dressed as a Storm Trooper from Star Wars; second place is 7 year old Eli Brown, who was dressed as a hobo with a sign that said “will work for candy”; and third place is 14 month old Kenleigh Bell, who was dressed as an owl. Congratulations to the 2015 winners!
