RAINSVILLE, Ala.-- The DeKalb County Board of Education named Tim McCollum as the new Principal of Fyffe High School at their meeting on Thursday.  McCollum previously served as the Fyffe Elementary Principal.  

In the work session of the DeKalb County Board of Education, Anthony Cooper, Chief School Financial Officer for the DeKalb County School System conducted the first budget hearing and work session for the upcoming fiscal year.  According to Cooper, two hearings must be conducted to allow questions from the Board and the public before approval.  Another meeting will be conducted at next month's meeting of the DeKalb County Board of Education.

Superintendent Wayne Lyles requested permission to place, pending Board approval.  He also placed members on the 2021-2022 Federal Programs Advisory Committees.  Lyles requested an amendment to the Energy Services Contract Amendment 3B to include gates and other safety features. 

Lyles requested the School Calendar to be amended for Virtual Learning on Tuesday, Sept. 7, which was approved by the Board. 

The date of the next DeKalb County Board meeting will be September 9. The regular meeting will be at 5:00 P.M.; Budget Hearing at 4:00 P.M.; Work Session at 4:30 P.M. in the Meeting Room at the Facilities Building.
