NACC Ranks #1 in Alabama for Medical Assistant Colleges!

RAINSVILLE, Ala. — Northeast Alabama Community College has been ranked as Number 1 by Universities.Com in their listing of Best Medical Assistant Colleges in Alabama.

The 2017 rankings of the best colleges in Alabama that offer Medical Assistant degrees were created to help students find a school that best fits their needs. Each school's ranking is based on the compilation of data from reliable government sources, student surveys, college graduate interviews, and editorial review. In addition, the entire list of all 24 Medical Assistant schools located within Alabama is available on line. Also available are reviews, facts, and questions/answers for schools and access to valuable information from colleges and universities. The Medical Assisting Program at Northeast prepares students for exciting careers in a variety of health care facilities.  Graduates of the program are trained to perform both administrative and clinical duties needed for employment in a clinic or physician’s office.  Medical Assisting is one of the fastest growing occupations in the United States, according to the US Department of Labor. There is a projected 27% increase in growth in job positions for medical assistants in Alabama through 2024, according to the US Department of Labor Statistics.

Northeast is authorized to offer both Short-Term Certificates and the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting.  Graduates of the AAS degree are eligible to apply for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and/or the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) examination. Short-Term Certificates include: Medical Assisting (general), Medical Coding, EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy Technician.

Early registration for the Summer Semester is going on now by appointment. Regular registration is Wednesday, May 31, and classes begin on Thursday, June 1.  Registration ends on Monday, June 5.
