In these ever-changing times, Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) is focused on continuing to provide a top-notch college experience for students. Under the veteran leadership of NACC President Dr. David Campbell, Northeast administrators, faculty, and staff are hard at work preparing for the upcoming fall semester.
Northeast kicked-off the semester Wednesday with the annual In-Service professional development day. A first for the college, this year’s In-Service was held completely online via Microsoft Teams due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Dr. David Campbell began the day with a virtual welcome and a few words of encouragement to faculty and staff. The In-Service continued with presentations from several NACC administrators.
“Despite whatever happens, we at NACC are pledged to give our students a quality education, while assuring their safety,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “Our In-Service is focused on that. We want to be on top of everything we do!”
Interim Dean of Instruction Chad Gorham knows NACC instructors are anxious to begin the semester. “Our instructors are ready to get the fall semester kicked off,” said Gorham. “Over the past semester, our instructors have focused on enhancing student engagement. While Covid-19 may have forced most instruction for the fall semester online, it will not keep students from reaching their educational goals.”
This fall, the college’s theory and lecture courses will be held online to ensure students are not unnecessarily exposed to Covid-19. Some workforce program labs and nursing clinicals will be held on campus following the college’s Covid-19 prevention procedures. Campus offices will be fully operational and will continue to provide excellent service to students. Another added convenience and Covid-19 precaution, students have the ability to pay for classes online or through the OneACCS app. Students may also set up a tuition payment plan through TouchNet.
