IDER, Ala. — Last week, students and faculty at Ider High School received the devastating news that their very own principal, Cyrus Frost, had passed away overnight.

At Friday night's Ider football game against North Sand Mountain, a small service was held to honor the life of Mr. Frost.

Here is Mr. Frost's full obituary, courtesy of Corner Stone Funeral Chapel in Ider.

Cyrus C. Frost, age 43 of Sylvania, died Tuesday, September 1.  Funeral services were held on Sunday at 4:00 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Frost officiating.  Family received friends from 10:00 am until service time.

Survivors include wife, Mallory Frost, daughter, Madison Champion(Frost), mother, Pam Miles(Jeff), Nana, Shelvie Frost O'Dell(Mike), brother, Cain Miles, uncle, Steve Frost(Sheila) and several cousins.

Mr. Frost was a 1995 graduate of Pisgah High School, and attended NACC, Jacksonville and University of Alabama where he completed an Administrative Degree.  He spent time at each of the following schools, White Plains, Weaver, Plesant Valley, Pisgah and was in his second year as Principal of Ider High School. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mac Eugene Frost.

The family is requesting in-lieu-of flowers, that donations be made to a College fund for daughter, Madison that has been established at First National Bank in Henagar.  Account information is under the names of Mallory or Madison.

Our prayers are with Frost's family, his students, and the faculty of Ider High School.
