FISCHER COMMUNITY, Ala. — In an exclusive to Southern Torch, the Fischer Rescue Squad unveiled their new Rope Truck.

Since its beginning in 1960, the Rescue Squad, which is entirely composed of volunteers from the surrounding community, have never been able to purchase a brand new vehicle.

Despite only receiving $1,600 per year from the County and through years of fundraising, donations and plenty of support, that dream has become a reality.

Fischer Rescue Squad serves the Lookout Mountain area along with any other areas in need. They are certified in helicopter, swift water, scuba and high/low rescues, just to name a few.
